i bought this as a christmas present for my mother as i have one myself, if you like good coffee then this is the machine for you, very easy to use and only takes a minute to make coffee, i picked this machine as it comes with a milk throfer so that you can make cappachinos aswell,there is a good varity of coffees that can be bought ranging from weak ones to strong ones and there is also decaf coffees to choose from. once you drink these for a while you will never drink an instant coffee again(they stink),excellant product well worth the money.

Nice machine - does the job, but the only downside is that it cant handle average mugs - so you need to use shallow cups as nothing else will fit under the nozel. Produces nice and hot coffee, and having the milk Aerocinno is a definate plus!!

I got this machine as a coffee (or more accurately) espresso machine for my house. I was fed up with the 'barista' type machines with the steam nozzles for making cappucinos as they were difficult to use and to clean, and in my house would not be used due to the time consumed in using them. Nespresso has created an excellent system of making a quick, proper coffee.

The coffee is much better than instant. However the capsules needed for the machine are slightly expensive (c.20-30p depending on type) however it is good coffee and you have to consider if you bought this coffee at a shop it would cost at least £1.50 if not more. Purists may also argue that using a traditional machine or one of the coffee presses might make better coffee, but I don't have the time or inclination to go down that route.

The machine is simple enough. There are two automatic buttons which you can program with the amount of coffee that you want to put in a cup. Fill the tank with water (again a much simpler system than the traditional coffee machines you can get from other shops), put in a capsule, press the button and you have a good coffee. You can make volumes from espressos to full mugs, but note that if you run water through a capsule for a second espresso it tends to be a bit weaker. If you want you can even use this as a stand in for a kettle if it's already powered up by just running water straight through.

The aerocinno mug that they give is also quite good. It is a magnetic whisk system for hot and cold milk so can make lattes or cappucinos effectively. You can even use it to whisk milk for a hot chocolate!

I chose this machine as it was the basic range of nespresso machines (i.e. also the cheapest), plus it was the automatic version (the manuals you need to hold the button down), and it came with the aerocinno accessory. There are other models which have stunning designs, and have other features, but they also come at a price - but could be more suitable for other people's requirements.

Capsules need to be ordered direct from Nespresso, but they offer to give you a speciallly designed capsule order with your first order.

Overall I love this machine. I can press a button and have a coffee waiting for me after I get out of the shower. I would recommend this machine for those who want a good coffee once a day.

This is a top of the range bread-maker. Is it worth the extra expenditure?

Appearance - good. Brushed steel and dark glass. Solid - but big. You need to be sure that you'll use it a lot if kitchen space is an issue.

Instructions and recipe book - both adequate, though the instruction manual would benefit from better presentation. Larger print would be helpful for some crucial information - like how to cancel a programme you didn't mean to choose! Recipes varied. Great to have 3 loaf-size options for all recipes.

The control panel -intimidating initially. There are a lot of options and some aren't self-explanatory. It's easy to make mistakes until you're used to it. After that, it's fine, even straightforward.

In general - everything works just as it should. The bread pan and kneader are satisfactorily solid and completely non-stick. The dispenser - which releases nuts, dried fruit, etc. - works a treat. You can use the internal light to see how the bread is doing and the kneading process is acceptably quiet. The timer is easy to use - but doesn't operate on all programmes including the dough programme. (No setting it early to make pizza or bread dough later - but fine for loaves to be finished in the bread-maker.)

Results - great bread every time so far!

Why you should buy this machine
If you think that you will make lots of different kinds of bread and want to be able to programme the machine to suit non-standard recipes - this is the machine for you.

Why you shouldn't
If your kitchen is on the small side and you are - generally speaking - going to make basic white or wholemeal bread - go for something smaller, simpler and cheaper.

Bread machines have been around for some time now, and the technology is evolving.
This machine differs from older bread makers in a few distinct ways:
* The mixer paddle does not tend to get stuck in the loaf when you remove the bread from the tin
* The mixer paddle does not make a large gaping hole in the bread loaf (It's much thinner, and has less of a vertical curvature than paddles on older machines I have used)
* A round tin is available as an additional extra so you can enjoy different shaped loaves

Other features which perhaps not all breadmachines have are:
* Incredibly good looks - those pictures don't do it justice
* A light to see inside through the hinged lid, without lifting it and jeopardising your loaf
* Very good quality and comprehensive recipe booklet
* Genuinely good rapid bake setting (creates well risen loaves in less than an hour)
* A large dispenser to add nuts or fruit partway through the cycle (added from the beginning, they get broken into too small pieces by the mixing action)

And of course, it has all of the standard features like a timer setting so that you can set your bread to be ready as you wake in the morning, cake programmes, jam programmes, and the ability to select different sizes and crust colour. If you'd be interested to see the recipes which come with the maker they are available free of charge online from the Kenwood site, I googled for 'kenwood bm450 recipes'.

As a breadmaker it really does an excellent job, the bread it's produced for me has been flawless. As with all new technology I needed to read the instructions first, though the programming of the cycle was not disimilar to other makers I have used.

As other reviewers have noted it is rather large, Amazon have provided dimension in the product specification so you can see if it would fit your kitchen.

I bought this Kenwood breadmaker to replace a Morphy Richards one that had died. As I wanted to use it on a regular basis, I wanted a top quality one and, although it was at the expensive end of those available, it has not disappointed me with the build quality and lovely looks.

I read many reviews before committing to buy and was a little dubious about one review saying the control buttons were indecipherable. They are not..... the button symbols are pretty logical, so don't be put off. The main ones are a book symbol for the program number, a scales symbol for size of loaf with three choices and a slice of bread symbol for colour of loaf, again with three choices. So with these I set it to make a white loaf within 5 minutes of getting it out of the box and it was perfect, as have been all the other loaves I have tried.

A lovely feature is that it allows you to extend the cooking time at the end and I'm just starting to practise with the custom made programmes with good results

The only thing I can fault it on is that the touch buttons are very sensitive, so don't brush your arm on it when setting up!!

A1+++ Serperb quality heater easy to use gives out good heat easy to use controls can not recommend highly enough and with the castors easy to move from one room to another room and the turbo fan warm up the rooms quickly and the timer allow you to only have heat the room as needed

I bought this to use in my conservatory. I have also got one which is 1.8 kw which seems to give off more heat than this 2.5 kw??
I do like the timer controls but unfortunately has stopped working after a few weeks. Will check the fuse later and return to Amazon if still not working.

Whirlpool instructions are absolutely dreadful! I have tried a few experiments with the Crisp feature. No instruction other than 18-22 mins for 1 KG of Pork Chops. I DON'T WANT TO COOK THAT QUANTITY. Consequently, the chop was originally given 6 minutes, No, not enough, I'll give it another 3 minutes, methinks. Crispy? No. Tasty, it was and very moist, but NOT crispy. I followed the instuctions, honest! The 6th Sense, however, really easy one touch, well 2 touch operation. The video DVD with a so called chef is practically useless. I was put off with the chef speaking in Italian with an English over-dub. The recipes are sparse and no basic examples. I've only had this machine 3 days and I'm frustrated. The way it was described, the machine would practically help you eat the food after it had cooked it! I suppose I'll have to take a few days off work to work it all out. It's probably excellent, but the icons on the buttons are small and indestinct. Not for the likes of me with dodgy eyesight! Forget the registration card that's impossible. Although not mentioned, well not in large enough text, there is a website and you can register on there. Thank goodness. Whirlpool, please publish a recipe book for this machine inluding basic recipes we can all practice on to find out what the machine actually does!

Not an over statement, was after a better, more useful microwave, and this is it. The different cooking options have changed the way I cook completely, It's great for steaming veg or fish, also reheats food safely with the 6th sense technology. yes it is bulky, but with what it gives in versatility, i wouldnt hesitate in buying another in the future, plus it's help cut down energy usage, by using a smaller oven. :)
