using in work kitchen. A little heavy when full but great to have the extra handle.
Our old kettles were always being overfilled and overflowing. The burco kettle has stopped this so can be sure it is safe in the kitchen now!

We had been looking for an electric fire as a subsitute for an open fire just for those few months before the really cold nights setin. This one is perfect in design and use and we are very pleased with it. The delivery was excellent only a few days after ordering.

The fire arrived broken. When I say arrived, I mean 5 weeks after it's due date and with no communications from the seller in all this time. I called them to ask what was happening only to be given the number of the courier and told to call them myself. There had already, they said, been several attempts to deliver the fire, all at 5:00 am or thereabouts. No, it didn't sound likely to me either. Granted, this was all during the snow over the Christmas period, but 5 weeks late?
Once I started to use the Amazon way of contacting the seller to report that the fire was broken, their customer service improved greatly. The fire was picked up quickly and a refund received promptly. They claimed no knowledge of my previous phone call. I can't say I'm impressed by the product or the company.

My only heating source in my one bed flat, 25 April 2010

I bought this heater in January. Now it's April and I can say that it was worth every penny.

I must mention that I didn't buy it for the look. My flat is all-electric, so I bought it, because I needed a more efficient heater.

Before I got this, I was using a 2.4kW oil radiator and a 1.2kW halogen heater. The oil radiator was too slow to warm up and consumed way too much energy and the halogen heater just wasn't enough. With these two heaters working on high setting, it was still freezing cold in my flat. I also had a De'Longhi fan heater before, which is very efficient, but your energy bill will be sky high.
This electric fireplace was a perfect heating alternative. I usually leave my doors wide open anyway, so it heats up the living room, bedroom, bathroom, kitchen and hallway as well. It doesn't have a timer or thermostat, so I use a timer that I bought separately. I set it to switch on about 30 mins before I get home and turn off when I leave. Good thing is that it heats up quickly, so you don't need to keep the heating on all day in order to make your heating more efficient.
There are two bars that you can turn on separately. When it was very cold, I was using both. Since the weather has become milder, I use only one bar but not all the time. I think it consumes 1kW per bar plus 60W for the light (the light is always on).

If you get it for the look, I would give it maybe a 3*. The wood doesn't look real at all. The flickering log effect looks fake too; it is produced by a metal cap that starts spinning from the heat. It's not bad though if you look at the price.
I like that the light is not as bright as of my halogen heater's and it won't bother you at all. It is actually very nice.

It won't heat things behind, below and next to it, so it's not a fire hazard if you don't put anything close in front of it. I keep it about 6-10 inches from the wall and I placed it directly on my [low] carpet. When I put my hand on the carpet below and in front of the heater, it's just warm.

Overall, I think this product is fantastic and would definitely recommend.

This is a great dustbuster and something we wouldn't do without now. We have been using it for over a year and have a little boy who has just turned two, so as you can imagine it get used extensively.

It it powerful enough to clean up very well, including all manor of dropped food and cat hair etc... even ok for slightly moist food as long as you don't mind giving it a clean regularly.

It's a solid design that can be cleaned and emptied with minimum effort. (Main parts detach from body for washing.) The cleaner can be folded through 180 degrees which is very handy. The extend-able nozzle is perfect for getting in tighter spaces and the fold out brush on the end it very useful as well.

It does suffer from the flaw mentioned in other reviews that crumbs can fall back out the nozzle when stored, but this has never been a problem for us as we just store it upright - problem solved!

We have just purchased out first replacement filter after a year of use (I have been cleaning out the original filter with our main hoover every couple of months with extends it's life dramatically.

The part code for the replacement filter is "90552433 FILTER" which is sold by quite a few sites in the UK cheaply. [...] sell them for £6.

Great product to clean the floor after having a meal with kids. Battery doesn't last mega long about 10 min or so. Plenty of time to clear those crumbs of the floor without having to use the hoover. Folds neatly and doesn't take to much space.

I had the older style 12v dustbuster for 7 years and it still worked but I lost the filter and could not get a replacement. Decided to buy this newer model and as expected its even better than the older model. Easier to clean and lighter in weight. I can hoover my whole stair case with this and more. It can hoover out two cars including the boot space. The battery lasts for a long time. I do keep it on charge all the time as I have a dog and its super for getting rid of the dog hairs. I would not buy anything less than a 12v model though.

This Vax carpet cleaner is a fairly decent wet cleaner for use on carpets and upholstery around the home. This comes disassembled in a small square box and requires some assembly before use. The instructions aren't the clearest I have ever seen and although this wasn't hugely difficult to put together, it could have been a whole lot easier and more clearly laid out. This comes with cleaning solution (which is also easy to find in most shops) and after thoroughly vacuuming the carpet area we tested this on, we set about cleaning. This managed to raise most obvious dirt first try and for more ground-in stains, such as those left by pets, we found they were removed after a second swipe. This left the carpet a little damp, but not excessively so and it soon dried off. One word of advice is to make sure as much pet hair is lifted up before using this as the fur tends to get tangled around the cleaning bristles and which need to be removed by hand afterwards. The dirty water reservoir is easy to empty and after rinsing it out it is ready for the next use. It also includes a filter which is easy to remove and clean as well. You are able to fold this down flat-ish so it is easy to store and it shouldn't take up too much space under the stairs or slipped under the bed. All in all this is a decent home carpet cleaner and whilst it will never restore heavily worn carpets or match industrial cleaners, it will revitalise most carpets around the house.

Easy to assemble and set up. It cleaned up our used and abused beige carpet after several runs and using up the free sample bottle of vax fluid, but no doubt a more expesive cleaner (pre-treatmnet model) would have done it quicker. Got so use to it that I went round the house doing other carpets therefore paying for itself + in 1 day. After getting a quote from a carpet cleaning firm, decided this was definietely the right way to go. It's ours to use whenever (especially in those emergencies when the dog had just chewed a pen on the carpet). Also bought the 5 pack of tripple A fluid which will probably last until 2012. Happly cleaning. H

For the sake of brevity I list my review points only because one can not bullet point on amazon reviews:

1. Arrives as petite square box not slim upright (see video)
2. Assembly not quite as per instructions which cover a range of models.
3. Disassembly difficult if want to pack in its box for storage.
4. Lays down flat for under bed storage.
5. 250ml of cleaning fluid supplied is enough for three sessions.
6. Took two sessions for my 3.6m x 4.0m living room.
7. 750ml Vax fluid easily available in a local shop
8. Upholstery hose easy to use (I have no upholstery)
9. Light weight
10. Would not shift 12-year-old dirt in doorway without repeated use.
11. Don't expect miracles; you can't replace wear and tear.
12. Use of Vax Ultra 1.42L improves things a smidge for the complete carpet clean. Clean NOT restore.
13. Its ideal use is kids and pets but refreshes on a full carpet clean.
14. Better than I thought for flattened kitchen carpet tiles.
15. Happy single man.
